Rodney Hill injury update: Latest on Arkansas RB's status vs. Mississippi State on Thursday report
Mississippi State is still searching for its first SEC win of the season.
Arkansas is riding a roller coaster of a season that’s seen the Razorbacks lose to Oklahoma State in double overtime, then beat UAB and Auburn, then lose a fourth quarter lead to now-No. 14 Texas A&M, then upset now-No. 7 Tennessee and then get blown out by No. 8 LSU.
For the 33rd straight season, Mississippi State and Arkansas will face off Saturday in a series that dates back to 1916.
No team is completely healthy at this point of the season, and that includes the Bulldogs and Razorbacks.

The health of the Hogs’ running back room is a concern right now, with Florida State transfer Rodney Hill not having played since the Texas A&M game on Sept. 28. He’s been nursing a knee injury. He has 15 carries, 78 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown to his name in 2024.

Ever since Mississippi State wide receiver Mario Craver left last week’s game against Texas A&M, his status has been under the microscope. The true freshman is second on the team with 355 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. He’s caught only 16 passes but is averaging 22.2 yards per reception. Craver has logged 82 yards after the catch this season, per Pro Football Focus, and he’s emerged as a downfield threat with single-game longs of 54 yards (vs. Eastern Kentucky in Week 1), 45 yards (vs. Toledo in Week 3), 46 yards (vs. Texas in Week 5) and 72 yards (vs. Georgia in Week 7).
Defensive linemen Trevion Williams and De’Monte Russell as well as linebacker Zakari Tillman also headlined Mississippi State’s first injury report of the week.
Williams is eighth on the team with 21 total tackles, 17 of which were assisted. He’s logged half a sack and two total tackles for loss.
