Report: Former Texas RB Roschon Johnson suffers broken hand during Senior Bowl practice
Former Texas running back Roschon Johnson reportedly suffered a broken hand during Senior Bowl practice, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
The former Longhorns ball carrier impressed scouts at the Senior Bowl and soared up NFL Draft boards. However, Johnson won’t be able to finish out participation at the Senior Bowl.
But Johnson did do something impressive with the injury.
“During an impressive first day at the Senior Bowl, Texas RB Roschon Johnson broke a bone in his hand at the beginning of practice, source said,” Rapoport wrote on Twitter. “He played through it, but likely won’t be able to participate the rest of the week. Johnson is a potential Day 2 pick.”
Johnson played four years at Texas prior to his Senior Bowl injury. He finished with 392 carries, 2,190 yards, 23 touchdowns, 5.6 yards per carry, 56 catches, 420 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions.
Johnson put up those numbers despite playing behind star running back Bijan Robinson.
As a member of the Class of 2019, Johnson was a four-star prospect out of Port Neches (Texas) Groves. He was the No. 36 overall prospect in the state, the No. 20 running back prospect in the class and the No. 266 overall prospect in the class.
