The No. 55 overall player in the Class of 2022 On3 100, Rowan Brumbaugh told On3 he’s committed to Northwestern.

Brumbaugh is the first commitment of the class. He is also one of the highest-ranked commits within the modern recruiting era for the program.

Brumbaugh, a 6-foot-4 point guard, plays for Washington (D.C.) Northfield Mount Hermon. He chose the Northwestern Wildcats over Kansas, Texas, Oregon, Miami, and Maryland.

Rowan Brumbaugh on why he chose Northwestern

“I have always been the type of kid to bet on myself and go the way that people doubt,” Brumbaugh said. “I want to create my own legacy and really build this program up. I have a great relationship with Coach (Chris) Collins and I really think my game can mature and develop incredibly under him.”

Scouting Report on Brumbaugh

On3’s Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton had this to say about Rowan Brumbaugh:

“The 6-3 and change point guard has the ball on a string. He makes the correct play a very high percentage of the time. Has the knack and athletic ability to get to the paint and rim off the bounce. Will knock down the open three. Converse at the foul line. His offensive game will go to the next level when he becomes more consistent shooting the three off the dribble. Displayed the ability at NBPA Top100 Camp to recover and make plays defensively. Competes on both ends of the floor. High-level basketball IQ, and a true gym rat.”
