High school football player commits, goes viral for entertaining name
Yes, Rowdy Beers is a real person and he is going to be playing college football very soon.
Beers, who is a tight end out of Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian, announced his commitment to FlU on Monday night.
The decision went viral as Beers had been a fairly unknown recruit before making his decision. He is unranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Beers also had offers from Northern Colorado and Missouri Western State.

According to his commitment graphic, Beers is 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. He played both defensive line and tight end in high school but it looks like he will play tight end in college.
In 14 games this season for Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian, he recorded 5.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss.
Whether Rowdy is his first name or a nickname is unknown at this time.
