Rutgers loses commitment from 2026 On300 4-star QB Gavin Sidwar

Warrington (Pa.) La Salle College four-star junior quarterback Gavin Sidwar has decommitted from Rutgers.

He had been committed to the Scarlet Knights since July 1.

“After careful consideration, I decided to decommit from Rutgers,” Sidwar wrote in a statement. “I appreciate all the coaches and staff that recruited me – there are great people in that building. I think it’s best that I reopen my recruitment at this time.”

Sidwar is the nation’s No. 407 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 29 quarterback and No. 14 recruit from Pennsylvania in the class.

On3 is significantly higher on Sidwar than the other major recruiting services. He is a four-star recruit ranked No. 193 nationally and No. 15 among QBs in the 2026 On300. He is also the No. 5 recruit from Pennsylvania.
