Of all the takeaways from Ryan Williams’ breakout moment this weekend for Alabama, there’s one that fans are still looking for the origin of.

During Saturday’s primetime win over Georgia, Williams had tape that read ‘Kill Everybody’ across his face. With that, many are wondering where it came from or what he was exactly referencing. As a few have now thought, though, there might be an answer about the meaning of those words on Williams.

Some have speculated that Williams’ eye black is attributed to a line from ‘The Program’, a football movie directed by David S. Ward that starred names like James Caan, Halle Berry, and Omar Epps. In a scene where the fictional team called the Eastern State University Timberwolves are in the film room, Alvin Mack, played by Duane Davis, delivers a memorable line that includes that same phrase.

“Kill the quarterback. Hit the tight end so hard his girlfriend dies. Kill everybody,” said Mack as to what his responsibility is for the specific coverages.

If that indeed was the message that Williams wanted to send, the Bulldogs surely received it from him. The freshman phenomenon had the best game yet in his young career with 177 yards and what was a game-winning touchdown off of six catches. Each reception was better than the last with his one score already becoming an all-time play.

Williams now has 16 receptions this season for 462 yards and five touchdowns this season. He has had a receiving score in every game so far with their yardage averaging out to 57.6 per score.
