St. Louis (Mo.) University High five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo originally planned to take his recruitment the distance and commit during the Early Signing Period in December.

But after a lot of thought, Wingo is ready to make a commitment and end his recruiting process.

The No. 24 overall prospect in the 2024 class will announce his choice on Wednesday, October 25, he told On3. Georgia, Miami, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M will be among the hats on the table.

“In the beginning, I thought this would happen on Dec. 20,” he said. “I took visits, I have been to all of those schools and I just had a change of heart. I talked it over with my family and got that feeling, so I decided to commit sooner. This is happening earlier than I expected, but things just changed.”

Wingo took official visits with the Bulldogs, Longhorns and Tigers, as well as Michigan, in June, and has been back to campus at Texas and Missouri since. He also attended Missouri’s game against Memphis in St. Louis last month and returned to Columbia two weeks ago for the LSU game.

Wingo feels good about where he wants to go, but he hasn’t completely locked in a decision yet. He will by Wednesday though, and at that point he can focus on his team’s playoff run.

Each of the schools he is considering brings something different to the table, but he knows what the specific things are he wants in the school he’ll be at for the next three to four years.

“It has come down to getting developed, having a chance to play and getting to the next level,” he said. “Those have always been big things for me. All six of those schools offer me a great opportunity. I have seen everything at those schools, I have relationships with coaches and I have had time to see what is real and what is fake in different places.”

Ryan Wingo Scouting Summary

An electric playmaker who picks up yards in a hurry. Ran a 10.64 100m, 21.46 200m and a 50.72 400m in 2022. The ability to defeat the angle with the ball in his hands is among the best in the 2024 cycle early on. Can take the top off of defenses with ease but is not just a straight line player. His ability to make defenders miss in tight spaces and finish runs is rare for someone with his long speed. Has a chance to be an impact player at the next level. Older brother is former Arkansas running back Ronnie Wingo.
