San Francisco guard Jason Rivera-Torres enters NCAA transfer portal

San Francisco guard Jason Rivera-Torres has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Jamie Shaw reports. He began his career playing for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Off the court, Torres starred in “Swagger”, which is an Apple TV+ series. NBA star Kevin Durant was one of the executive producers of the show. The show spanned two seasons between 2021 and 2023.
This past season for the Dons, Rivera-Torres averaged 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He played in 33 games for his squad this past season, but did not log any starts. His team’s season came to an end in the second round of the NIT after a 25-10 finish to the season. The Dons fell to Loyola Chicago 77-76 to round out its season after a third-place finish in the West Coast Conference behind NCAA Tournamwnt teams Saint Mary’s and Gonzaga.
San Francisco head coach Chris Gerlufsen commented on the arrival of Rivera-Torres when he committed to the program last offseason. He was high on the former SEC talent.
“Jason is a very talented two-way player who can score the ball and defend at a high level,” he said. “His skillset and toughness make him a great addition to our team this upcoming year.”
