Georgia coach visits 2026 No. 1 RB Savion Hiter
At the end of December, Mineral (Va.) Louisa County four-star running back Savion Hiter, the top-ranked burner in the 2026 cycle, updated his recruitment with On3 at the Under Armour All-America Game.
He tabbed four programs as being “up there” in the race for his pledge. Georgia was among the four and continues to push for the touted ballcarrier.
This weekend, Hiter was visited by Georgia running backs coach Josh Crawford:
The Bulldogs had Hiter in Athens for multiple games this fall and continue to make an impression on the 5-foot-11.5, 190-pounder.
“It’s just a school that’s built great running backs out there and I could be one of those too,” Hiter told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “They’re RBU. I really like Coach Smart. They have great academics too. People don’t notice that.”
UGA’s 2026 class features just four commits, as of Jan. 11. Hiter will be a top priority for Crawford, head coach Kirby Smart and Co. as attention fully turns toward the 2026 cycle.

Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee were also tabbed as top programs in the mix for Hiter, who also isn’t turning away other interested programs. He’s planning to take official visits this summer before coming to a decision.
He is the No. 21 overall prospect, No. 1 RB and No. 1 player in Virginia in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Savion Hiter Scouting Summary
On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this of Hiter as a prospect:
“Gifted runner with an advanced blend of athleticism, fluidity and instincts as a high school underclassman. Physically developed, measuring in at over 5-foot-11 and around 190 pounds prior to his sophomore season. Registers as a strong athlete, running an 11.11 second mark in the 100-meters as a freshman. Also jumped close to 45 feet in the triple jump – an outstanding mark. Turned in a dominant freshman season, rushing for 1,526 yards and 24 touchdowns, averaging 11.7 yards per carry. Looks to be a natural runner.
…An extremely fluid and smooth mover who changes directions effortlessly. Cuts on a dime and makes defenders miss in space. Runs with the pace and instincts of a much older player. Has the burst and athleticism to pull away from the defense once in the open field. A phenomenal high school football player who also makes big plays on defense. Has the potential and upside to be one of the best running back prospects in several cycles.”
