Ticket prices are surging ahead of Saturday’s SEC Championship between Georgia and Texas. The updated cost of entry was revealed Friday night, less than 24 hours before kickoff.

The average ticket price is $700 for Saturday’s game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, according to TickPick and Front Office Sports. At $252, the get-in price is more than 1,500% higher than the $15 price for the Big Ten Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Georgia and Texas will square off with a likely first-round bye in the College Football Playoff on the line. It’s a rematch of one of the biggest games of the regular season when the Bulldogs went to Austin and defeated the Longhorns 30-15. That matchup became the most-watched game of the regular season as more than 13 million people tuned to ABC.

That’s part of the anticipation for the SEC Championship, which will be a Top-5 showdown, as well. Texas came in at No. 2 in the penultimate College Football Playoff rankings while Georgia checked in at No. 8.

In that last showdown during the regular season, Steve Sarkisian notably benched Quinn Ewers as Texas struggled through the first half. He then returned after halftime and led a quick surge before Georgia pulled away for the victory.

But since that moment, Sarkisian said Ewers responded well. In the process, it also seems like it lit a fire under his quarterback.

“My goal and my hope was that if anything, it would’ve sparked him, the competitor in him to play even more charged than he had been and I think it worked,” Sarkisian said. “You’re just always trying to push the right buttons in players. And again, ton of respect for Quinn and the job that he’s done for us not only this season, but for three years and for him to, back-to-back seasons, get us back to a conference championship and more than likely an opportunity to play in the College Football Playoffs, I think, is a tremendous honor. And he deserves that. He’s been a great teammate and a great leader on this team.”
