After an exciting Week 10 of football in the SEC, the conference has announced its Players of the Week honors from the weekend. There were a few major upsets across the SEC over the weekend. Florida convincingly lost to South Carolina. Tennessee took down Kentucky while Arkansas beat Mississippi State. Texas A&M also beat Auburn, and Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss earned victories.

SEC Week 10 offensive honors

Offensive Player of the Week: Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker.

Tennessee’s explosive offense was on display in Week 10, and Hooker took home SEC honors as a result. In the 45-42 win over Kentucky, Hooker accounted for 357 yards and four total touchdowns. Hooker also averaged 11.52 yards per play, completing 15 of his 20 pass attempts. He had multiple touchdowns of at least 70 yards, becoming the only SEC player to do so this season. Hooker is tied for the nation lead with four 70+ yard touchdown passes, and his 190.01 QB passer rating is the fourth best in the country.

Offensive Lineman of the Week: Tennessee OT Cade Mays.

Tennessee only possessed the ball for 13 minutes, and the Vols had to be nearly perfect when they did have the ball. That proved to be the case, and Mays and the offensive front played a big role in that. Tennessee had 462 yards of offense. Mays played every snap at right tackle and allowed no sacks, pressures, and did not take a penalty. He has not allowed a sack in 418 snaps this year.

Week 10 defensive honors

Defensive Player of the Week: Alabama LB Will Anderson Jr.

In a game that could have been highlighted by strong offenses, Alabama and LSU fought in a defensive battle instead. Anderson had a career high 12 tackles, including eight solo stops as Alabama allowed just 14 points. He also had four tackles for loss, and he leads the nation with 21. Anderson added 1.5 sacks, and he leads the SEC on the year with 10.5. He also batted down a pass and had two quarterback hurries. LSU had less than 300 total yards.

Defensive Lineman of the Week: Texas A&M DL Tyree Johnson.

Texas A&M’s defense completely shut down Auburn on Saturday. Johnson had two tackles, both of which were sacks that lost a total of 13 yards. It is the fourth consecutive SEC game that Johnson has a sack. Johnson also forced a fumble, and his strong play in Week 10 earned him SEC honors again. Auburn had 226 net yards on 70 plays, the Tigers’ lowest output on the season.

Special Teams/Freshman honors

Special Teams Players of the Week: Texas A&M K Seth Small, South Carolina K Parker White.

Small, a senior kicker for Texas A&M, connected on four of his five field goal attempts in the Aggies’ win over Auburn. His makes were from 21, 29, 37, and 47 yards. He missed a 42-yard kick in the second quarter. Small’s kick in the first quarter allowed him to pass Randy Bullock for the all-time career field goal record at Texas A&M.

White made each of his eight kicks in South Carolina’s 40-17 win over Florida, including four field goals. He made kicks from 39, 35, 40, and 39 yards, scoring a career high 16 points. White is the first Gamecock to make four field goals in a single game since 2015.

Freshman of the Week: Arkansas K Cam Little.

The accolades keep coming for SEC kickers, this time for Arkansas freshman Cam Little. Little made four field goals as Arkansas beat Mississippi State 31-28. He also set career long makes three times with 46, 48, and 51-yard field goals. He is the first Arkansas kicker with three 45+ yard field goals in a game since 1997. Little leads freshman FBS kickers with 14 field goals.
