As you can see, the offensive side of the ball features two quarterbacks in Pavia and Beck. The Vanderbilt star accounted for 296 yards of total offense and 3 touchdowns in Vanderbilt’s upset win over Virginia Tech, while the Georgia signal-caller hit on 23 of 33 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns during their 34-3 win over Clemson.

On the defensive side of the ball, Sabb was able to record a pair of tackles while picking off two passes against the Hilltoppers, which helped the Crimson Tide shut out their opponent in Week 1.

One of the more exciting players on Sunday was Tennessee’s Iamaleava. The quarterback set a Volunteers record for passing yards in a half (314) to lead the team to a 69-3 season-opening victory, while only playing the first half. He finished 22-of-28 with three touchdowns and no picks, as well.

As you can tell, the SEC Football Players of the Week for Week 1 were more than worthy of their honor. We’ll see how they fare over the course of a full season, and if they can keep up their torrid start in 2024.
