SEC names Football Players of the Week after Week 10
The SEC has named their Football Players of the Week following the action that took place this past weekend in Week 10.
Some fascinating contests dominated televisions on Saturday afternoon and evening, like Ole Miss‘ 32-point drubbing of Arkansas, and Vanderbilt’s ten-point victory over Auburn. Elsewhere, Georgia escaped an upset-attempt from Florida, while Texas A&M may have seen their College Football Playoff dreams go up in smoke in Columbia, at the hands of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
With that in mind, here’s who the conference chose to honor following Week 10, for their performance and importance to the result their team enjoyed this past weekend.
- Offensive — Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss & Jordan Watkins, WR, Ole Miss
- Defensive — TJ Dottery, LB, Ole Miss & Chaz Chambliss, LB, Georgia
- Special Teams — Jesse Mirco, P, Vanderbilt & Alex Herrera, PK, South Carolina
- Offensive Line — Torricelli Simpkins III, OG, South Carolina
- Defensive Line — Princely Umanmielen, DE, Ole Miss
- Freshman — LaNorris Sellers, QB, South Carolina
The offensive side of the football saw an Ole Miss takeover, with Jaxson Dart and Jordan Watkins honored by the conference. Dart racked up an Ole Miss single-game record 562 yards of total offense (515 passing, 47 rushing), breaking Archie Manning’s 1969 record of 540 against Alabama, while Watkins broke the Rebels’ single-game records for both receiving yards (254) and touchdowns (5) on eight receptions.
Ole Miss was represented on the defensive side of the football as well, as T.J. Dottery got the scoring started by recording a sack fumble in the endzone that was recovered for the first Rebel touchdown of the game. Additionally, he paced the team with six total tackles and career highs in sacks (2.0) and TFL (2.5).

He wasn’t alone in being honored by the SEC though, as Georgia’s Chaz Chambliss helped the Bulldogs defeated Florida with his 2.5 tackles for loss, including a pair of sacks on the afternoon in Jacksonville.
Finally, freshman quarterback LaNorris Sellers added to his mystique in a home upset victory over Texas A&M, completing 13-of-27 passes for a career-high 244 yards and 2 touchdowns (15 and 57 yards) in the Gamecocks’ 44-20 win over No. 10 Aggies.
As you can tell, there were a bevy of incredible performances throughout the conference in Week 10, and Week 11 will bring some more, but these are the players the SEC decided to honor this time around.
