An easy choice for the Offensive Player of the Week was Alabama’s Jalen Milroe. The quarterback accounted for a career-high 491 total yards and four touchdowns in the Crimson Tide’s 41-34 victory over No. 2 Georgia. Additionally, Milroe threw for a career-best 374 yards and two touchdowns, completing 27 of his 33 passes, while adding 117 rushing yards on 16 carries, including two rushing touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the football, Oklahoma’s Kip Lewis was chosen after standout performance in the Sooners’ 27-21 victory over Auburn, recording five tackles, including a tackle for loss, and returning an interception 63 yards for a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. Continuing, Lewis’ pick-six, the first interception of his career, came with just over four minutes remaining and gave Oklahoma a 24-21 lead over the Tigers.

One of the more eye-catching performances of the weekend came from the Freshman of the Week, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams, after he made several highlight-reel catches, including the game-winning 75-yard touchdown reception. Williams’ performance helped Alabama secure the top-five victory, solidifying his status as one of the rising stars in college football in the process.

As you can tell, Week 5 featured some incredible performances in the SEC, and as the season progresses, we should expect nothing less from the conference on the football field.
