SEC names Football Players of the Week after Week 6
The SEC Players of the Week following Week 6 of action have been released. The group is headlined by Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, who led the Commodores to an upset of Alabama on Saturday.
Multiple other Commodores made the list, while Ole Miss, Arkansas and Texas A&M also had players honored after recording big wins over the weekend.
Here’s the full list of players honored by the SEC after Week 6:
Offensive — QB Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt
Defensive — DE Suntarine Perkins, Ole Miss
Special Teams — K Brock Taylor, Vanderbilt & P Tyler White, Texas A&M
Offensive Line — OT Gunnar Hansen, Vanderbilt & OT Fernando Carmona, Arkansas
Defensive Line — DE Miles Capers, Vanderbilt & DT Walter Nolen, Ole Miss
Freshman — QB Malachi Singleton, Arkansas
Diego Pavia was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week after impressing on Saturday against Alabama. The senior finished with 308 total yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Crimson Tide.
Other Vanderbilt players honored by the SEC were kicker Brock Taylor, offensive lineman Gunnar Hansen and defensive lineman Miles Capers.

Taylor was 2-for-2 on field goals for the Commodores, including a 51-yarder. Hansen was critical to helping the Vanderbilt offensive line have a strong day, while Capers had a huge sack against Alabama.
As for Suntarine Perkins, who was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, he had a career high 12 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and a sack against South Carolina. Rebels defensive lineman Walter Nolan was also honored by the SEC after posting 5 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks against the Gamecocks.
Texas A&M freshman punter Tyler White was named Co-SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after averaging 46.3 yards per punt against Missouri.
Finally, Arkansas had a pair of players honored in offensive lineman Fernando Carmona and quarterback Malachi Singleton. Carmona helped the Razorbacks put up 434 yards of offense in an overtime win over Tennessee, while Singleton scored the game-winning touchdown against the Vols.
