SEC Network releases ultimate SEC defense selections for 2021

SEC Network’s Chris Doering has released his ultimate SEC offense and defense entering the 2021 season. Alabama and Arkansas lead the way on defense with two selections each. The SEC Network defense also includes players from South Carolina, Georgia, Texas A&M, Auburn, LSU, Florida and Ole Miss.

Front seven

DE: Kingsley Enagbare, South Carolina

Enagbare is a two-time All-SEC player entering his senior season with 11 career sacks at South Carolina. He had a breakout season in 2020 when he made 30 tackles with six sacks and forced three fumbles across eight games.

DT: Jordan Davis, Georgia

Davis is a first-team preseason All-American after being voted to the second-team All-American list at the end of last season. He has 59 career tackles with five sacks and blocked a field goal last season.

DT: DeMarvin Leal, Texas A&M

Leal is a junior preseason All-SEC and All-American player who can line up anywhere across the front of the defense. He had 37 tackles, three sacks, four pass deflections and an interception last season.

DE: Will Anderson Jr., Alabama

Anderson Jr. is a sophomore edge rusher who finished 2020 with 52 tackles, seven sacks and a blocked field goal. He lines up at outside linebacker in Alabama’s 3-4 defense but is capable of playing on the line in a 4-3 system.

LB: Grant Morgan, Arkansas

Morgan is a former walk-on who is returning for his sixth season of college football. He earned All-SEC and All-American honors after finishing the season with 111 tackles in 2020.

LB: Zakoby McClain, Auburn

McClain finished 2020 with 113 tackles and three sacks. The senior linebacker earned All-SEC honors last season and has four forced fumbles and a pick six in his career.

LB: Christian Harris, Alabama

Harris is one of the top draft-eligible prospects at linebacker. He has 142 career tackles with five sacks, four pass deflections and an interception in two years as a starter at Alabama.

Secondary

CB: Derek Stingley Jr., LSU

Stingley is another top NFL Draft prospect with two years of starting experience entering his junior season. He has 65 career tackles with six interceptions and a forced fumble.

CB: Kaiir Elam, Florida

Elam has been one of the most productive defensive backs in the SEC over his first two seasons. He has 50 career tackles with five interceptions and 20 pass deflections entering his junior season.

S: Jalen Catalon, Arkansas

Catalon earned All-SEC and All-American honors as a redshirt freshman in 2020. He finished last season with 99 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles.

S: Otis Reese, Ole Miss

Reese is a senior entering his second season at Ole Miss after transferring from Georgia. He played in three games last year and finished with 24 tackles and an interception.
