The latest SEC Power Rankings from On3, utilizing the On3 Massey Ratings, are in after Week 11 of the college football regular season.

The On3 Massey Ratings – which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated high school sports team rankings since 1995 – rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

So without further ado, let’s examine this week’s edition following Week 11.

1. Georgia Bulldogs

It was a humbling weekend for the Bulldogs, who finally saw some inconsistent play catch up with them in a thoroughly hostile environment at Ole Miss. But the Massey Ratings still like the Bulldogs quite a bit.

Georgia held at No. 3 nationally in the Massey Ratings, keeping the team atop the SEC Power Rankings this week despite the loss. That’s good news for Georgia’s College Football Playoff hopes, too; the metrics like the Dawgs.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide (+1)

After a dominant win on the road at LSU, Alabama jumps Texas in this week’s Massey Ratings. The Crimson Tide owned the game against the Tigers from start to finish, led by a huge night on the ground by quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Milroe set the Alabama record for most touchdown runs by a quarterback in a season, logging four. That brought him all the way to 16 rushing touchdowns on the year. Impressive stuff.

3. Texas Longhorns (-1)

Despite a big win over Florida, Texas slides a spot in this week’s SEC Power Rankings. The quality of win over the Gators was just so-so, as Florida is now a sub-.500 team on the year.

As far as playoff hopes go, though, Texas still sits in the driver’s seat in the SEC… which gives you a great shot at the playoffs. Things continue to build toward the season finale at Texas A&M, though first up this week Texas must take down Arkansas on the road.

4. Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee has quietly put itself in excellent position in the SEC race, one of only three one-loss teams in conference play, knowing that Texas and Texas A&M (the other two) must square off still. Josh Heupel‘s squad is in the middle of a special season.

There’s some degree of concern coming out of this weekend, though. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava left the win over Mississippi State with an upper body injury. But Heupel says he expects him back this week, so we’ll see.

5. Ole Miss Rebels

Nationally Ole Miss probably had the best win this weekend. It was both against a quality opponent and dominant. The Rebels hounded the Dawgs with a defensive line that battered Carson Beck.

Outside of an injury to Jaxson Dart — that the quarterback came back from and played through — there wasn’t a whole lot to dislike this weekend. Maybe the field storming was a little premature, but who can blame the fans after such a thrilling result?

6. Texas A&M Aggies (+1)

After losing to South Carolina in humbling fashion, Texas A&M got this week to rest and recover. And to try to bounce back. There’s still plenty to play for, but that 44-20 loss to the Gamecocks may not be easy to forget.

In any case, the Aggies get a chance to take out some frustration this week against New Mexico State. After that it’s a road trip to Auburn, then the home finale against Texas.

7. LSU Tigers (-1)

For all intents and purposes LSU saw its playoff hopes come to an end on Saturday with a blowout home loss against Alabama. LSU was never all that competitive in the contest.

Running quarterbacks continue to be a major problem for the Tigers, who had no answers for Milroe. The challenge now for Brian Kelly is going to be keeping the team motivated with a playoff berth no longer in the cards.

8. South Carolina Gamecocks

In conference action, South Carolina’s 28-7 win over Vanderbilt was not far behind the wins Alabama and Ole Miss put together. The Commodores are a solid squad that have given just about everyone problems. Not South Carolina.

The Gamecocks continue to lean on a pass rush that might be the best in the country, and that helped pave the way against Diego Pavia on Saturday. South Carolina stays put in this week’s SEC Power Rankings, but don’t be surprised to see it ranked in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings.

9. Missouri Tigers (+1)

Missouri survived a seriously scary late-game situation against Oklahoma in an absolutely wild series of swings. But the Tigers got the job done when they needed to, first with an insane Theo Wease catch and then with a scoop and score.

The problem for the Tigers, despite having only two losses, is that both losses have been absolute blowouts. That probably eliminated the team from playoff contention, but don’t be surprised if the Tigers are ranked this week somewhere in the 20s.

10. Oklahoma Sooners (-1)

Turnovers continue to do in the Sooners, who had a chance late against the Tigers but blew it. Quarterback play has been just so-so for Oklahoma, and that’s usually a problem in this league.

The closing stretch is also brutal for a team that has now lost four of its last five. Oklahoma will host Alabama and then travel to LSU to end the season. First up, though, is a much-needed bye week.

SEC Power Rankings: 11-16

11. Florida Gators
12. Arkansas Razorbacks
13. Vanderbilt Commodores
14. Kentucky Wildcats
15. Auburn Tigers
16. Mississippi State Bulldogs

The metrics continue to like Florida a decent bit despite a second straight loss for the Gators. So despite a lopsided loss to Texas, Florida stays put. In fact, so does everyone else from 11 to 16 in this week’s SEC Power Rankings.
