Following an entertaining slate of games in Week 4 inside the SEC, the conference has released its players of the week honors for the weekend. The conference’s slate of games included five intra-conference matchups. Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, LSU, and Kentucky came away with wins during Week 4 in the SEC.

SEC Week 4 offensive honors

Offensive Players of the Week: Quarterback Emory Jones, Florida, wide receiver Treylon Burks, Arkansas

Jones had a very productive game in Florida’s 38-14 victory over Tennessee. He set career highs with 209 passing yards, 21 completions, and 144 rushing yards. In doing so, Jones becomes the first Florida player to pass for 200 yards and run for 100 yards in a single game since Tim Tebow in 2009. Jones led the entire SEC in rushing yards in Week 4.

Burks, meanwhile, had six yards and 167 yards, both season highs, in addition to a touchdown in Arkansas’ 20-10 victory over No. 7 Texas A&M. The performance was his sixth career 100-yard receiving game. Burks’ touchdown was an 85-yard strike, and he currently sits second in the SEC in receiving yards.

Offensive Lineman of the Week: Luke Fortner, Kentucky

Fortner is becoming a staple as part of the weekly SEC awards. Kentucky ran all over South Carolina in the 16-10 victory with 230 yards on the ground. Fortner graded out at 84 percent with no missed assignments and no sacks or quarterback pressures allowed.

SEC Week 4 defensive honors

Defensive Player of the Week: Linebacker Damone Clark, LSU

LSU made a change to its defensive scheme, moving to a 3-2-6 to take away the explosiveness from Mississippi State’s offense. This helped Clark total a career high 15 tackles in the victory. Clark also recovered a fumble and returned if 35 yards, setting up an LSU touchdown. LSU held Mississippi State to 5.5 yards per play.
