SEC Tournament championship game time moved due to projected forecast

The SEC Tournament championship game has been moved up due to anticipated inclement weather in the area on Sunday. The game will now be played at 1 p.m. ET.
The game will pit Vanderbilt against the winner of LSU and Ole Miss. Ole Miss led LSU 2-0 going into the bottom of the eighth inning at the Hoover Met on Saturday at the time of this writing.
The SEC Tournament has largely gone off according to plan, though weather impacted one game during the early stages of the tournament, forcing it to the next day. Still, there haven’t been any truly late nights like there have been in years past.
That has allowed the teams competing to chip away. Vanderbilt has done that most successfully, the first to reach the championship game.
The Commodores, who entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed, dispatched Oklahoma on Thursday in their opening game. It was a comfortable 6-1 victory.

That led to a Saturday showdown with Tennessee, pitting the two in-state rivals against each other in a high-intensity setting. Vanderbilt did not mess around.
The Commodores secured a run-rule 10-0 win in seven innings, sending the Volunteers home empty-handed. You can view a complete recap of that game below.
Vanderbilt tops Tennessee in SEC Tournament
It’s always fun when Vanderbilt and Tennessee match up on the diamond, but the Commodores had much more pleasant Saturday than the Volunteers in the SEC Tournament Semifinals. It was a dominating performance, as Vanderbilt hit Tennessee with the run-tule in the seventh inning, advancing to the finale via a 10-0 dub. Cody Bowker and Connor Fennell combined to blank the Volunteers. The Commodores didn’t have an extra-base hit, but it didn’t matter — they’re on to the championship game on Sunday.
