The final 2024 On300 rankings were released on Monday as the cycle comes to a close in the coming weeks.

Among the top of the heap in the class are some of the most highly-touted prospects at skill positions in the past few cycles. On3’s scouting and rankings team evaluated not only their regular season senior year film, but also performances in the playoffs and postseason all-star games and practices.

On Monday, On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power joined Andy Staples to discuss who in the 2024 class have the opportunity to make an immediate impact as a freshman at the college level.

Elite WRs in the Yellowhammer State

Ohio State signee Jeremiah Smith may be the top-ranked wideout and overall prospect in the cycle, but there’s a pair of WRs that are set to play their football in-state in Alabama that also hold their weight as a recruit.

Auburn Five-Star Plus+ WR signee Cam Coleman finished as the No. 3 prospect in the On300. After decimating competition at Phenix City (Ala.) Central, he went on to look amazing at the Under Armour All-America game, bolstering his stock as he makes his way to The Plains.

“I think Cam Coleman at Auburn is a special receiver talent. He has the biggest catch radius of anyone in the cycle and is an elite athlete as well. He’s probably the ‘freak’ of this receiver group at 6-foot-3.5, 190 (pounds). His athleticism, ball skills, kind of a rare combination there,” Power said.

Saraland (Ala.) Five-Star Plus+ WR Ryan Williams re-committed to Alabama this month and is expected to sign with the Crimson Tide in February. The No. 8 overall recruit in the nation helped his team make a run to the 6A state title game and is expected to be a major help in Tuscaloosa, even though he was originally a member of the 2025 class.

“Then you have a guy like Ryan Williams at Alabama, who’s going to be playing his freshman season as a 17-year-old, he’s the biggest deep threat in the cycle and a guy who I think projects as a start in Kalen DeBoer’s offense,” Power said.

Georgia welcoming elite DB to Athens

New Haven (Conn.) native and IMG Academy product Ellis Robinson IV has always been near the top of the rankings — and for good reason. After standing out amongst a talented roster at IMG, the Five-Star Plus+ Georgia signee showcased his ability against both Smith and Coleman at the Under Armour event at the beginning of the month.

Robinson headlines Georgia’s No. 1 recruiting class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings as the No. 4 prospect. Bulldogs fans shouldn’t be shocked if they hear his name plenty on the field in the not-too-distant future, too.

“I would look at Ellis Robinson at Georgia. You look at what Georgia’s lost at corner, Robinson is extremely ready to play. I think he’s going to come in with the mindset to lock down a starting role in Athens. What’s really impressed me, in addition to his cover instincts and ball skills, he does not back down from top competition,” Power said.

“Of any corner we saw in the cycle, he had the best go of it with Jeremiah Smith and Cam Coleman. I don’t think he’s going to be swimming in the SEC when you throw him out there.”
