Seth Anderson injury update: Iowa WR's status officially revealed vs. Iowa State
Iowa wide receiver Seth Anderson was ruled out for the Hawkeyes’ rivalry game against Iowa State. The hope is he’ll be back for Big Ten play, per ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
“Iowa wide receiver Seth Anderson is out for the second straight game,” Rittenberg wrote on Twitter. “The hope is he’ll be back for the start of Big Ten play.”
Anderson has yet to play this season. He started in eight games last year, playing in all 14 for the Hawkeyes.
Anderson had 11 catches for 150 yards and one touchdown during the 2023 campaign. He joined Iowa prior to last season after starting his career at Charleston Southern.

Seth Anderson ruled out for Iowa vs. Iowa State
It was a tough break to not see Anderson ready to go for the Cy-Hawk rivalry. A game which head coach Kirk Ferentz believes is under-appreciated.

Alabama WR to transfer
“This game, obviously, is a big, big game,” Ferentz said. “It’s a rivalry game. Certainly, it’s been intense for a long time. It’s my 34th experience. I’ve seen a lot of different things throughout the course of that time. But bottom line is it’s just a good game for our state. It’s good for everybody if they’re involved in football and like football.
“On top of it, I think it’s probably a little bit underappreciated outside of our state in terms of the intensity of the rivalry and the way the players go after it each and every time. It’s really a good football game.”
Last year, Iowa came away with a 20-13 win over Iowa State in the Cy-Hawk game. Jaziun Patterson led the charge for the Hawkeyes as he totaled 81 yards and a touchdown, and a Sebastian Castro pick-six helped them come away with the rivalry victory.
