Seton Hall and former Syracuse guard Kadary Richmond has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. He’ll have at least one year of eligibility remaining.

Richmond played his freshman season at Syracuse in 2020-21 before entering the transfer portal and heading to Seton Hall. He’s been a major piece for the Pirates during his two seasons there.

Behind Richmond, the Pirates were 2024 NIT champions.

Richmond played in 35 games, starting 34 for the Pirates this past season. He averaged 15.7 points per game along with 7 rebounds and 5.1 assists on 32.7 minutes per game. In 122 career games, Richmond has averaged 10.5 points per game and more than four rebounds and assists.

Richmond played high school football at Brewster (N.H.) Academy, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 78 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Seton Hall recently picked up an Ohio State transfer in the portal

Former Ohio State combo guard Scotty Middleton has found his college basketball home for the 2024-25 season. After entering the NCAA transfer portal earlier in April, he has found his way out of it after committing to play for the Seton Hall Pirates next season.

During his lone season in Columbus, Middleton appeared in 30 games for just over 15 minutes a contest, averaging 4.4 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. He was also a bit of an enigma, shooting 45.2 percent from the 3-point line while barely making 33 percent of his 2-point tries.

The freshman combo guard and former Buckeyes wing opted to enter the transfer portal after former Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann was relieved of his head coaching duties midway through the season. Ohio State opted to make interim head coach Jake Diebler the Buckeyes’ next head coach.

Middleton was a highly sought-after talent in the transfer portal, as he was one of the top-ranked recruits from last year’s recruiting cycle. The Miami, FL native who played his high school basketball at Sunrise Christian High School was a high-end four-star recruit, receiving a rating of 95.3 in his class. Middleton was a top 100 player, ranking 54 nationally, and the No. 11 ranked small forward, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
