Seton Hall guard Dylan Addae-Wusu enters NCAA transfer portal
Seton Hall senior and Big East veteran Dylan Addae-Wusu has entered the transfer portal ahead of his final season, according to On3.
Addae-Wusu had spent three years at St. John’s before deciding to transfer to the Pirates last season. After one year under Shaheen Holloway, he’ll now hop back in the portal to evaluate his options.
The big-bodied guard has always been a semi-productive player at the college level, never starring but always providing solid minutes as a role player. He played 20 minutes a game even as a true freshman back at St. John’s, where he provided just over six points per game. As a sophomore in 2022, he averaged 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds.
Then, it was high-water marks of 9.3 points along with 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 2023, his final season before bolting for the Pirates. At Seton Hall, the scoring dropped just under nine points per game while he grabbed a career-high 5.3 rebounds per game, also reaching his highest minutes-played mark with 32 per night along with 37 starts.
Addae-Wusu’s game and body combination is something to behold, since he is only 6’4 but weighs 235 pounds, roughly 40-50 pounds heavier than the average 6’4 shooting guard. Heck, he was the third heaviest guy on the Pirate roster last season, only coming in lighter than the teams’ two centers.

Addae-Wusu grinded out his success at St. John’s without the benefit of major recruiting pedigree. He was a local NYC kid, playing at Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, and came into college an unranked recruit.
To keep up with the latest players on the move, check out On3’s Transfer Portal wire.
The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.
The process of entering the portal is done through a school’s compliance office. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the office enters the player’s name in the database and everything is off and running. The compliance office has 48 hours to comply with the player’s request and that request cannot be refused.
Once a player’s name shows up in the portal, other schools can contact the player. Players can change their minds at any point and withdraw from the portal. However, once a player enters the portal, the current scholarship no longer has to be honored. In other words, if a player enters the portal but decides to stay, the school is not obligated to provide a scholarship anymore.
