The Colorado offensive line did not have the best night against Nebraska, seeing defenders get into the backfield consistently. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders was getting hit all night and at one point in the fourth quarter, it was too much. Sanders took some extra time to get back up and was visibly shaken up.

Eventually, head coach Deion Sanders decided to take his son out with the game already in hand. Sheduer Sanders hung out on the sideline for a little bit but as the two minute timeout struck, he was seen heading back to the locker room.

There was no helmet in sight either for Sanders as he walked with Colorado staffers. Backup quarterback Ryan Staub finished out the game for the Buffaloes in what wound up being a tough loss for the program.

Sanders completed 23 of his 38 pass attempts on Saturday, going for 244 yards, a touchdown, and a rare interception. His last INT came came Oct. 13 of last season against Stanford, going five games without one.

To make matters worse, the turnover directly led to Nebraska points as it was a pick-six. Sanders was late on a hitch route as Colorado was backed up in its own endzone, making for an easy play and gifting the Huskers a score.

With the Nebraska game over, the question of Sanders’ long-term health instantly comes into question for Colorado. Another rivalry game falls next on the schedule, facing off against the in-state Colorado State Rams. That was a tight contest a year ago and projects to be another great game, especially with the Buffaloes heading to Fort Collins.

From there, two Big 12 games against Baylor and UCF are on the schedule. Colorado does not see a bye week until Oct. 5, before wrapping up with seven consecutive games.
