Shedeur Sanders not interested in playing flag football in 2028 Olympics
While there’s been no shortage of debate in recent weeks about who should be on the United States roster for the flag football tournament at the 2028 summer Olympics, at least one potential option is ruling himself out: Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Sanders, who will more than likely be playing on a rookie contract in the NFL then, shot down the idea of playing in the Olympics on a recent episode of his podcast, “2Legendary.” Asked if he would want to play, Sanders provided a simple retort: “No.”
He elaborated a bit more, citing the risk of injury as a reason not to participate.
“Cause, bruh, you could get injured,” Sanders said.

Sanders also demurred on the possibility of winning a gold medal. To him, it seems the potential of glory in winning for his country does not outweigh the need to take care of himself from the physical toll full-contact football involves.
“I don’t like that bro. And you just had a full season,” Sanders said.
Flag football is set to be an officially sanctioned Olympic sport for the 2028 games, which are being held in Los Angeles. It’s the first time any form of American football will have been featured in the games.

Team USA’s current flag quarterback wasn’t scared to call out Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes heard what Darrell Doucette said about him and had no choice but to respond. Doucette, quarterback of the USA flag football team, told TMZ Sports that he’s better than the three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback. On X, Mahomes shared the interview while adding the 50 Cent member where he says “Why he say f***me for?”
Doucette was talking about NFL players potentially taking part in flag football in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Mahomes expressed he wanted to be part of the team, but Doucette had something to say about that.
“At the end of the day, I feel like I’m better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game,” Doucette said in an interview with TMZ Sports. “I know, right now, he’s the best in the league. I know he’s more accurate. I know he has all of these intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.”
