Signing Day announcement details released for 5-star DL Shemar Stewart

We’ve known for a while that Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart was going to announce on National Signing Day. Now we knew when the 6-foot-5, 270-pounder will announce his pick.

According to a social media post, Shemar Stewart will announce his decision at 1:30 p.m. ET next Wednesday on CBS Sports HQ.

Race to land Shemar Stewart tightening

Heading into the final stretch before Signing Day, Texas A&M was viewed as the team to beat. In fact, the Aggies still lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. But momentum has been shifting toward Miami and Georgia before his announcement.

The On3 RPM still favors the Aggies at 59.5%. But look for the race to tighten up even more in the coming days as more expert predictions are logged. As of now, five projections are in for Texas A&M and one is logged for Miami. Most of those were made before Stewart set up his official visit this weekend to Miami.

There has also been some intel that Georgia – where he visited last weekend – is very much in this, too. So, we’re getting every indication that the race to land Shemar Stewart continues to tighten.

Earlier on Thursday, On3 went into details about how important the next four days are for the Aggies, Canes and Dawgs in Stewart’s recruitment.

Shemar Stewart is ranked as the No. 3 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also ranked as the No. 2 defensive lineman and the top overall player in Florida, according to the On3 Consensus.

On3 ranks Stewart similarly. On3 tabs Stewart as the No. 13 overall player, third-best DL and second-ranked player in the Sunshine State.

Shemar Stewart currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $34,000. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time. Stewart ranks No. 126 in the High School Football NIL Rankings.
