Simmons Scoop: Georgia has slight lead with On3 top-30 DL Jordan Hall
Jacksonville (Fla.) Westside defensive lineman Jordan Hall appears to be taking his time with his recruitment. The No. 27 prospect in the On300 rankings didn’t take any official visits over the summer, and is likely to make all five this fall.
But after trips to Georgia, Miami and Florida last weekend, those teams look to be among his top schools. The Gators and Bulldogs have a slight edge, according to On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons.
“I think all three schools are in this race,” Simmons said Wednesday. “I think two of those are on top of his list — Florida and Georgia. He has that home feeling in both Gainesville and Athens right now. If I had to give one school the edge for Jordan Hall, I like Georgia. The way he’s communicated with Tray Scott, the way he speaks on him. And then I have a source close to Hall that feels Georgia is in a great spot.”

Simmons recently placed an expert prediction in favor of the Bulldogs, who have made the 6-foot-3, 310-pounder one of their top priorities on the defensive line this cycle. However, a decision isn’t expected any time soon. But Simmons did add that Hall told him in a recent interview, his announcement could come at any time between now and December if he feels he has found the correct fit.

“I don’t think he has plans to commit soon, but I guess if he gets that feeling, it’s possible,” Simmons added. “Right now, Florida and Georgia lead the way with Georgia having a slight edge heading into the month of August.”
Jordan Hall Scouting Summary
“Explosive defensive lineman who has one of the best first steps in the 2023 cycle. Explodes into the backfield in a split second, blowing up plays in the backfield. Shows outstanding short area burst, closing on quarterbacks and running backs. Uses active hands at the line of scrimmage and employs an effective swim move. Looks to have long arms, which aid in his ability as a violent finisher behind the line. Has the play speed to track down plays from the backside. Put together some of the best junior season video among defensive tackles in the 2023 cycle. Played well when facing top competition. Will benefit from time in a college strength program.”
