Simmons Scoop: Georgia leading for 4-star safety Joenel Aguero

Danvers (Mass.) St. John’s Prep four-star safety Joenel Aguero is committing this weekend.

On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons first put in an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine prediction for Aguero last November. He hasn’t felt any need to change that prediction as the months passed.

“He took official visits over the summer to Florida, Georgia, Miami and Ohio State,” Simmons said. “Back in November of last year I put a pick in on the On3 RPM for Georgia. I’ve seen no reason to change that up to this time. A few days away, still hearing a lot about Miami’s involved, Florida’s trying to hang around. He’s close with Kamari Wilson of Florida. He loves the opportunity at the University of Miami but I like where Georgia sits for Aguero.”

Aguero is the No. 42 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The 2023 On300 ranking has him ranked slightly higher at No. 41.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $210k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The 2023 Bulldogs recruiting class is the No. 3 class in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. If Aguero commits to the Bulldogs, he would be one of the highest-ranked players in the group behind only Phenix City (Ala.) Central four-star cornerback A.J. Harris.
