Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab four-star linebacker Jaiden Ausberry surprised On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons the other day when he announced he would be announcing his commitment early next Monday.

That decision, Simmons said on the Simmons Scoop, is great news for one school.

“Right now, he’s trending away from the local school LSU and trending towards Notre Dame,” Simmons said. We thought coming out of the Future 50 event, Ausberry would take his recruitment into the season. He’s come out now to announce he’ll commit August 4. I think that’s a great sign for Notre Dame. He and his family have connected with Marcus Freeman.”

Ausberry is the No. 115 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine does give the Fighting Irish a very high chance of landing Ausberry at 94.5%.

But Simmons doesn’t believe this recruitment to be over and believes other teams will try to get Ausberry up until his commitment.

“A&M’s in there. Michigan’s in there. LSU is trying not to go away. His brother signed with Auburn in 2022 but right now i like where Notre Dame’s at for Jaiden Ausberry,” Simmons said.

Ausberry currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $123k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
