The early signing period ended on Wednesday, November 20. With that the majority of the top 150 ranked 2025 recruiting class are committed. I wanted to discuss some classes that I feel could eventually outplay their current On3 Team Recruiting Ranking.

Looking at the algorithm of how the On3 Team Recruiting Rankings are set, it values quality over quantity. The ranking takes each players industry rating and averages that out to get a number. The industry rating is the average rating from each of the four major recruiting services.

The day after the early signing period closes, let’s discuss six under-the-radar classes signed during the early signing period.

Houston

On3 Industry Team Ranking: No. 11
The Class: 5-star SG Isiah Harwell, 4-star PG Kingston Flemings, 3-star SG Bryce Jackson

During the early signing period, Houston added signatures from On3’s No. 3 ranked SG in Isiah Harwell and the No. 1 ranked PG in Kingston Flemings. Both players bring a sense of toughness and physicality that Kelvin Sampson can build around. Jackson is a local developmental player with some positional size and skill.

Michigan

On3 Industry Team Ranking: No. 22
The Class: 4-star SG Tre McKenney, 4-star SF Winters Grady, 3-star F Oscar Goodman

Dusty May identified players that fit his system with an emphasis on toughness and skill. McKenney is the headliner, he is the reigning Michigan Gatorade state Player of the Year. Goodman had a very strong showing in the U17 FIBA World Cup this summer. Grady is a 6-6 wing who averaged more than 19 points while shooting close to 40 percent from three on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit this summer.

Georgia

On3 Industry Team Ranking: No. 27
The Class: 4-star Jacob Wilkins, 4-star F Kareem Stagg, 3-star C Jackson McVey

Mike White is starting to stack recruiting classes on top of one another. This one is headlined by the best player in the school’s history, Hall of Fame forward Dominique Wilkins, son. A 4-star high-flying forward Jacob Wilkins. Stagg is a no-nonsense-type forward who is strong and explosive and can stretch the floor. McVey is a development big, a thin 7-footer with shooting touch and can move a little.

Iowa State

On3 Industry Team Ranking: No. 32
The Class: 4-star SG Jamarion Batemon, 4-star F Xzavion Mitchell, 3-star G Macari Moore, 3-star SG Killyan Toure

Iowa State signed a potential building piece with Jamarion Batemon. He has a quick shooting trigger with deep range and plays with the utmost confidence. Mitchell is consistently productive and brings his lunch pail and hard hat each time he steps on the floor. Toure came to the U.S. from France and has a high point of attack upside. Moore signed with Iowa State over a host of regional mid-major programs.

Penn State

On3 Industry Team Ranking: No. 39
The Class: 4-star G Kayden Mingo, 3-star F Mason Blackwood, 3-star C Justin Houser

Kayden Mingo is a player you can put the ball in his hands and he can go make something happen. He has a fearless sense to him. Hauser is a 6-11 developmental big with some length, mobility, and shooting touch. Blackwood is a strong and high-motor forward who has no issue doing the tough guy stuff on the court.

Northwestern

On3 Industry Team Ranking: No. 51
The Class: 3-star PG Jake West, 3-star F Tyler Kropp, 3-star F Tre Singleton, 3-star C Cade Bennerman, 3-star G Phoenix Gill

The Northwestern staff did a. Excellent job, in my opinion, of identifying multiple-year players who can come in and make an early impact. While some may question West’s size, there is no doubting his skill set and competitive fire. Positional size might be a question for Kropp and Singleton, but their well-rounded skill sets and current production are undeniable. Gill is the son of former NBA guard Kendall Gill and Bennerman is a long and lean 7-footer with upside.
