There’s plenty of excitement around the SMU Mustangs football program heading into the 2024 season. And once you take a look at their roster, it’s easy to see why. The Mustangs return one of the more gifted signal-callers in the ACC in Preston Stone. He’s expected to be the driving force behind what figures to be yet another excellent season on the gridiron in Dallas.

On Wednesday evening, SMU gave their fans something else to be jazzed up about ahead of their Week 0 matchup with Nevada, unveiling the uniforms they’ll be wearing to kick off the season. The Mustangs will be wearing their all-whites.

More on SMU QB Preston Stone entering the 2024 campaign

Preston Stone is ready for SMU to take on the ACC in 2024. A new conference comes new matchups and new challenges but the Mustangs will go in “guns ablazing.”

The ACC churned out quality quarterbacks in recent years, making the jump to the NFL. Now that SMU is playing Power Four football, Stone knows there are more eyes and greater expectations.

But the team fits in just well.

“I think we fit in just well,” Stone said at ACC Media Days. “The ACC does have a tradition of putting a lot of talented quarterbacks in the NFL. Just off the top of my head, I think of Jameis Winston, Trevor Lawrence, Deshaun Watson. We’re coming into this conference guns a blazing. I think the quarterback room fits perfectly with that.”
