South Carolina is one of the many SEC programs vying for momentum on the recruiting trail with National Signing Day just two weeks out.

The Gamecocks currently have the No. 20 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, but have their sights set on multiple blue-chip prospects. Shane Beamer and his staff could soon be trending for one, too.

On Wednesday, Florida State insider Michael Langston logged a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine in favor of South Carolina flipping Greensboro (Ga.) Greene County four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn away from the Seminoles.

Wynn has been to Columbia multiple times this fall and recently watched South Carolina take down Texas A&M inside Williams-Brice Stadium. USC, Texas and Georgia have also been in on the 6-foot-2, 325-pounder, but it’s the Gamecocks that are looking to surge late.

Wynn is the No. 74 overall prospect and No. 9 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 11 player in the Peach State.

Across 10 games this season, Wynn racked up 62 total tackles, including 24 for loss. He also tallied seven sacks in what was an impressive senior campaign for Greene County, which won seven games.

South Carolina looking to close the cycle with a bang

October saw South Carolina pick up a pair of blue-chip commitments from Rock Hill (S.C.) four-star wide receiver Malik Clark — another former Florida State commit — and Columbia (S.C.) Ridge View four-star WR Jordan Gidron, who reclassified up to 2025 after announcing his decision. The class now features 21 total commits after Irmo (S.C.) Dutch Fork three-star linebacker Josh Smith joined the fold earlier this month.

The Gamecocks are currently without a listed defensive lineman in their 2025 class, though they do have myriad EDGE prospects in the mix, including Taylors (S.C.) Eastside four-star Jaquavious Dodd and Havelock (N.C.) four-star Donovan Darden. If Wynn were to pledge, he would be the top-ranked prospect in the class.

South Carolina is also looking to flip Hoover (Ala.) Thompson four-star EDGE Jared Smith, a top-40 recruit, from Auburn. He’s also been back to campus this fall and is giving other SEC programs a look down the stretch.

Beamer’s class also ranks No. 11 in the SEC, still ahead of Kentucky, Florida, Mississippi State and others. Harrisburg (Pa.) Susquehana four-star WR Lex Cyrus, Norfolk (Va.) Maury four-star safety Kendall Daniels, Concord (N.C.) Jay M Robinson four-star WR Brian Rowe and Gaffney (S.C.) four-star IOL Shed Sarratt are other top commits on the pledge list.
