South Carolina to host 2025 4-star Gevonte Ware this weekend
On3 will issue its first 2025 class ranking on Monday, but a sneak perk behind the curtains, expect to see 6-foot-9 Gevonte Ware on the list of 50.
Ware, who is originally from New York, plays at Charlotte (NC) 1 of 1 Academy. 1 of 1 Academy was started by Charlotte Hornets All-Star LaMelo Ball. The skilled post missed most of last season with a lower-body injury, so his recruitment is just getting started.

So far, during the Fall live recruiting period Michigan and SMU have been in to see Ware. Vanderbilt and South Carolina took notice of the future four-star this summer.
This unofficial visit will be Ware’s first his sophomore season.
Ware’s scouting report
Gevonte Ware has a naturally strong frame. At 6-foot-9 and 235 pounds, he has soft, passer-friendly hands with long arms. He is an excellent defensive rebounder. Ware is skilled on the offensive end with range that extends beyond the three-point line off the catch. He lacks overall pop at this point, but his instincts, toughness, and IQ get him into a position to make plays. Ware can push the break and create, off the bounce, in the half-court. He is not a rim protector. People have compared him to shades of Kennedy Meeks.
