There’s a heavy favorite in the recruitment of Palmetto (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Zy’marion Lang, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Thanks to a new expert prediction entered for South Carolina, the Gamecocks now sit in the No. 1 spot on the RPM for Lang. GamecockCentral recruiting insider Chris Clark placed a pick with a 55% confidence level. SC is now a 91.5% favorite to land the pledge of Lang, with Pittsburgh sitting at No. 2, down to 4.3%.

Lang announced a top four of South Carolina, Pitt, Kansas State and USF on July 3. He is set to commit on July 30. Lang is the No. 568 overall player in the Class of 2024, per the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 92 WR and No. 77 player from Florida in the cycle.

South Carolina has previously approached Lang as a WR and a defensive back, helping the Gamecocks standout to the Floridian. Defensive backs coach Torrian Gray is leading SC’s recruitment of the three-star.

“They want me for both defensive back and wide receiver,” Lang previously told On3. “That right there puts them in my top five.”

The 6-foot-3, 170-pounder took two unofficial visits to Columbia before taking an official on June 23. Pitt also received an official visit, which came a day before on June 22.
