South Carolina vs. Clemson odds: Early point spread released on Palmetto Bowl
Clemson enters the final week of the regular season with revenge on its mind as it prepares to face South Carolina. The Tigers are set to face the Gamecocks in the Palmetto Bowl on Saturday, hoping to get back on the right side of the rivalry after a 31-30 loss last year.
It’s been an down year thus far for Clemson, which will fail to reach the 10-win mark for the first time the 2010 season. South Carolina, on the other hand, is still fighting to reach bowl eligibility. Clemson enters the game as a 7.5-point favorite according to FanDuel.
The over/under is set at 52.5 points

Despite the rough start to the season, Clemson appears to have found a rhythm of late. The Tigers enter this matchup amid a three-game winning streak after handing No. 20 North Carolina a 31-20 loss on Saturday.
Clemson led the entire second half, at one point finding itself up 31-14 before giving up a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Running back Will Shipley led the way for the offense to finish with 126 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers average 4.5 yards per carry as a team.
South Carolina is also on a three-game winning streak after at one point being 2-6 this season. The Gamecocks managed to keep hope of making a bowl game alive with a 17-14 victory against Kentucky in Week 12.

They used a defensive effort to come away with the win, forcing three turnovers from the Wildcats. Spencer Rattler connected with Xavier Legette for the go-ahead score with 7:44 remaining. After that, South Carolina forced a fumble and a turnover on downs on Kentucky’s final two drives.
Rattler had a big performance against Clemson last year throwing for 360 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the win. He’ll now aim to make it 2-0 in his career against the Tigers while also leading South Carolina to a bowl game.
The in-state battle between Clemson and South Carolina is one of the oldest rivalries in college football, with the first meeting occurring in 1896. The Tigers have been largely dominant since then with a 72-43-4 all-time advantage in the series.

Prior to last year’s win, South Carolina had lost seven straight games to Clemson. Now the Gamecocks will aim to get a streak of their own started in what should be an entertaining contest.
