St. Bonaventure transfer Chance Moore commits to West Virginia

Former St. Bonaventure small forward Chance Moore has committed to West Virginia out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Joe Tipton. Moore entered the portal on March 24.
Moore averaged 13.0 points per game, as well as 6.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists during his lone season with the Bonnies. Now transferring to WVU, it will be his fourth program in five seasons. 2025-26 will serve as his final season of eligibility.
He began his career at Arkansas but played just five games for the Razorbacks under Eric Musselman. Moore went on to transfer after that season, landing at Missouri State where he spent the next two seasons.
There, he started in 23 of the 62 games he appeared in for the Bears. Moore averaged 10.7 points per game over those two years, but improved his rebounding numbers from 3.9 per game in his first season with Missouri State, to 5.3 per game the following year.
However, his numbers at St. Bonaventure were career highs across the board. Now, he’s set to join new head coach Ross Hodge’s initial roster in Morgantown. Hodge takes over the Mountaineers’ program after leading North Texas for the past three seasons. His program finished this past season with a 27-9 overall record one year after finishing 19-15.
West Virginia finished with a 19-13 record under former head coach Darian DeVries. He left the program earlier this offseason to take the same job for Indiana.
