St. Louis area RB Allen Mitchell releases 'first 10 list'
Allen Mitchell is another example of how loaded the Show-Me State is in the Class of 2023. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder rushed for 342 yards and also had 188 yards receiving for more than 500 yards of total offense in his junior season at St. Louis (Mo.) De Smet Jesuit.
It was numbers like that — along with a solid film from 7-on-7 play with the South Florida Express — that has already earned him a long list of scholarship offers.
Allen Mitchell shared on social media on Tuesday what he is calling his “first 10 schools.” Mitchell also made it clear that his recruitment “is still 100% open.”
Who is on Allen Mitchell’s first 10?
The first 10 schools are Kansas State, Kansas, Kentucky, Buffalo, Minnesota, Western Michigan, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan State and Ball State. Iowa and Nebraska are two other schools that have shown early interest in Mitchell. But neither has offered at this point.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Kansas State and Kentucky are the teams that have the best chance of landing Allen Mitchell. K-State and Kentucky are both listed at 26.5%, followed by Kansas at 9.2% and Buffalo at 9.2%.
Mitchell has taken around 10 unofficial visits so far through the recruiting process. However, he’s been to both Manhattan and Lexington twice. Both Wildcat programs have been recruiting him heavily for more than a year now.
Allen Mitchell will have an even better chance of racking up big numbers in his senior season. He announced on Dec. 22 that he was transferring to Lutheran of St Charles County for his senior season.

The 2023 class in St. Louis is absolutely loaded with more than a dozen players that have already earned high-level scholarship offers.

Missouri tight end commit Brett Norfleet of Francis Howell, safety Marvin Burks Jr. of Cardinal Ritter and running back Jeremiyah Love of CBC are also four-star recruits.
