Year One of the Rob Vaughn era ended on Saturday, with Alabama being eliminated from the NCAA Tournament. The loss came at the disposal of Stetson after both teams lost on Friday. A tough one for the Crimson Tide and to make matters worse, the Hatters had some fun on social media after the game.

Roll Tide Willy might be the most famous Alabama fan out there right now but a video of his was used against the program. Stetson tweeted out Willy predicting the Tide would win and suggesting they hit a lot of home runs.

Stetson wound up being the home run hitters and got some alternate angles in the video. Dixieland Delight was playing in the background too, an Alabama staple. Overall, a solid troll from Stetson as they stay alive in the NCAA Tournament.

Willy has been helping Alabama in multiple different sports but did not fare well on the baseball diamond. Kalen DeBoer has brought Willy around, working the Ryan Williams recruitment well. Preston Murphy and Nate Oats recruited Rutgers transfer Cliff Omoryui quite hard. Murphy then put out a video of Willy, calling him the “closer.:

Unfortunately, Vaughn will have to get back to the drawing board with Willy. Nobody in Tuscaloosa will want to see him used in a video to troll the Crimson Tide after losses.

Stetson still alive in NCAA Tournament

Three teams remain in the Tallahassee Regional, with all of them being from the state of Florida. Stetson kicked out bordering state Alabama, leaving it to the Sunshine State teams to battle it out for a spot in the Super Regionals.

Florida State is facing UCF in the 1-0 game of the region, with the winner advancing to the regional championship series. The Seminoles are heavy favorites and you have to imagine Link Jarrett’s squad expects to be victorious.

Stetson is on the other side, waiting for the loser of that game. Winner will stay alive and need two wins against Florida State to advance. The loser will back their bags and see their 2024 season come to an end.

Seeing a four-seed make a run is incredibly rare but Stetson has proven their worth thus far in the NCAA Tournament. Just a few more wins are required to pull off something miraculous.
