Four-Star G Steven Reynolds Breaks Down High Major Offers
Steven Reynolds came in at No. 34 in On3’s initial 2026 ranking. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 13.3 points and shot 35 percent from three as a freshman last year at South Bend (IN) Washington High. He did not play travel ball this summer.
“I’m a tall guard,” Reynolds told On3. “I can play the point or a combo guard, facilitate, or score for my team. I’ve added weight and good strength., and I can tell that in my game. I watch a lot of Jalen Hood-Schifino, from Indiana, the pace he plays and how he plays the game.”
On3 caught up with four-star Steven Reynolds after a recent live viewing to talk about this recruitment.
Reynolds talks recruitment
“I got offers from Purdue, Eastern Michigan, IUPUI, and Toledo,” Reynolds said. “I just got Mississippi State too.”
Purdue: “They have a good program. Two of my sisters go there, they like it. I’ve met the men’s coaching staff there already, and they’ve done a great job there. A lot of our conversations right now are about getting me on campus and explaining to me the stuff they have for me if I were to come and what they could do for me if I went there.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
“They need more three-level scorers on their team, and I think I can do that for them.”
Mississippi State: “They are looking for a dynamic point guard in the 2026 class. I know they made the tournament last year after being out a few years before. I watched a little bit of their game against Pittsburgh last year. I’ll learn more about them. They’re on my radar now.”
“We’ve heard from Michigan State, Ohio State, and Florida some,” Reynolds said. “I grew up watching a lot of Duke.”
Reynolds Bloodlines
Steven Reynolds has two sisters who are currently on the Purdue women’s basketball team. Mila Reynolds is a 6-foot-3 sophomore. She played in 22 games last season at Maryland prior to transferring this summer. Amiyah Reynolds is a 6-foot-0 freshman for the Boilermakers. Both sisters were nationally-ranked players coming out of South Bend (IN) Washington High.
In His words
“I’m looking for a place that I can fit in at, on and off the court,” Reynolds said, “I want to go somewhere I can contribute to their program. I can play on or off the ball, I can play fast or slow, so the system won’t really matter. But I would like to play for a coach that will let me do all of that.”
