Steven Reynolds came in at No. 39 in the recent 2026 On3 ranking update. The 6-foot-4 guard out of South Bend (IN) Washington High averaged 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists this season.

“I would say I’m a combo guard who can really play the point effectively and can shoot at a high level,” Reynolds told On3. “I’m a vocal and an effective leader. Recently I have been watching Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He’s 6’6-6’7 super good with and without the ball, and can create space. I’ve just been taking things away from him.”

On3 caught up with four-star Steven Reynolds recently to talk about his recruitment.

“So far, I have offers from Indiana, Ohio State, Notre Dame, IUPUI, Eastern Michigan, Purdue, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Toledo, Nebraska, and Illinois,” Reynolds said. “I’ve taken unofficial visits to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue.”

Reynolds Talks Visits

PURDUE: “My relationship with them has been great. Obviously, my sisters are going there, but I’m still open to other schools. My recruiting is still open, it’s not a done deal. Purdue has been awesome on the boy’s side. The connection I have with some of the staff there has been great.”

INDIANA: “The relationship with Indiana is strong. Being from Indiana and just connecting with them has been great. I think I definitely fit in with their style, and as far as Coach (Mike) Woodson, I think he’s an awesome coach.”

OHIO STATE: “I took that visit before their coach got fired, so it was a bit ago. It was great, everyone was great, we toured the campus and went to the football game, it was a cool experience for sure.”

NOTRE DAME: “Notre Dame was cool as well. I’ve been there a few times because it’s close. They have been great as well. Coach Shrews (Micah Shrewsberry) has been good and his style of play I think could fit me as well.”

ILLINOIS: “The staff has been cool. They definitely took care of us when we were on the visit. I learned that they want to play fast which is how I like to play.”

In Steven Reynolds’ Words

“I’m just looking for a place that will have a role for me and believe in me,” Reynolds said. “Obviously, I’ll look for the best fit. I want to be able to just play my game, so a system that fits my game will be important.”
