Syracuse transfer SF Chris Bell commits to Cal

Former Syracuse small forward Chris Bell has committed to Cal out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Joe Tipton. Bell originally entered the portal on March 24.
Bell averaged 9.3 points per game, as well as 2.0 rebounds for the Orange during the 2024 season. This came after his sophomore season in 2023, where he averaged 12 points per game on a 42% 3-point percentage.
Before college, Bell was a former top-100 recruit in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 79 overall player in the cycle and the No. 22 player in his position.
As of Wednesday, March 26, over 1,250 Men’s College Basketball players had entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. That number is expected to grow now that the 2024-25 college basketball season has reached its conclusion.
