Tarkanian Classic: High School Division Day 2 Live Updates
Las Vegas, Nevada – The annual Jerry Tarkanian Classic has tipped off in Las Vegas, and, as usual, there was a lot of talent in the building. The host school for the event was Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman High.
Over 100 teams from Florida, Nevada, Arizona, California, Washington, Utah, Canada, and Australia were present. The event is split into two sessions, the Prep Division and the High School Division. December 16-18 is the prep division and December 18-21 is the High School Division.

Tarkanian Classic Live Updates
10:30 AM PST – Kansas and Colorado were among the college programs at Las Vegas (NV) Sierra Vista High watching four-star center Xavion Staton. Staton finished the game with a ten-point, double-double, and a handful of eye-catching blocked shots.
10:30 AM PST – Kansas split the morning as they were also at Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman High to watch five-star wing Bryson Tucker. Tucker took an official visit to the Jayhawks in November.
Noon PST – Colorado sat courtside again, and is joined by Mississippi State watching four-star class of 2025 center of Las Vegas (NV) Coronado High.

1:30 PM PST – The Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons sat court-side to watch 2026 four-star PG Jason Crowe go for 50 points. The 6-foot-3 Crowe knocked down four threes and 12 free throws as he brought his Lynwood (CA) High School team back from down 15 in the second half.
3:00 PM PST – The Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons stuck around Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman High to watch 2024 four-star Tajh Ariza face off with 2024 Five-Star Plus+ forward Carter Bryant. Ariza is the son of former NBA Champion Trevor Ariza and Bryant has signed with Arizona. Bryant’s Corona (CA) Centennial team won with Bryant finishing with 13 points and double-figure rebounds.
3:00 PM PST – Kansas slid back over to Las Vegas (NV) Sierra Vista High to watch Phoenix (AZ) Sandra Day O’Connor junior Michael Simcoe. The Tarkanian Classic features over 140 teams playing at six different Las Vegas area locations. Simcoe finished on Monday night with 26 points and a reputation that grew quickly.
4:30 PM PST – UNLV head coach Kevin Kruger made the quick trip across tow to the Tarkanian Classic to watch Runnin’ Rebels three-star signee James Evans. Kruger is joined court-side by multiple assists.
