Head coach Kirby Smart shared an update on Ratledge’s status after the Bulldogs’ Week 7 win.
“He’s much closer,” Smart said. “He’s running. He’s on dry land running, pushing it. He’s got a custom-made brace. We keep hoping he gets better.”
The 6-foot-6, 320-pound lineman is one of Georgia’s most experienced players upfront, boasting 31 career starts, including three this season. For his efforts in the 2023 campaign, Tate Ratledge was named a second-team All-American and first-team All-SEC selection.
Bond has been listed as questionable earlier this week with an ankle injury before being upgraded to probably on Thursday. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian shared promising news about the wideout on Wednesday, saying Bond “had a pretty good practice today.”
The wide receiver has 21 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Both teams will have to continue relying on their depth at running back after suffering from numerous short-term and long-term injuries at the position. With the run game representing a key piece to each team’s respective winning formula recently and a crucial factor in Saturday’s game.
