Florida and Georgia are set to meet in a showdown of rivals on Saturday in Jacksonville, Fla., and the early injury report has not been kind to either team.

Both squads have some key players either on the mend and hopeful to play this weekend or already ruled out, causing some headaches for both coaches.

And the stakes for the game are quite high.

Florida might need a win to finally help turn down the noise on coach Billy Napier, who sits at 15-17 overall and 1-6 against the program’s three chief rivals. And even then a win will only go so far.

Georgia needs to win to keep in good standing for the College Football Playoff, having already lost one contest earlier this year.

But the Bulldogs are a heavy favorite in the game, entering as an 18.5-point favorite according to lines listed by FanDuel. So there’s a clear expectation with this game. Can Florida surprise? We shall see.

Here’s the Thursday injury report for both teams below.

Georgia

Florida has two big ones on the injury report and unfortunately for the Gators both were deemed out on Wednesday’s report. That’s star receiver Tre Wilson and veteran cornerback Jason Marshall.

Those absences will leave Florida without a key player on both sides of the ball.

Meanwhile, Georgia got mostly good news from the injury report on Wednesday. Starting offensive guard Tate Ratledge and defensive lineman Jordan Hall were both listed as probable for Saturday’s contest.

Ratledge has been working his way back from tightrope surgery, while Hall has yet to play this season as he deals with injuries to his legs. He could make his season debut on Saturday.

There are still some key absences for the Bulldogs, too, though. Linebacker Smael Mondon was listed as out for the game on Wednesday, while running backs Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson are both out as well. Defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye was also recently ruled out for the year.

Still, with a handful of players listed as questionable or probable on Thursday, the Friday and Saturday injury reports will bear watching.
