TCU Horned Frogs defensive back Andre Seldon Jr. has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. The defender previously played for Michigan and New Mexico State, as well.

Seldon initially committed to the Wolverines out of high school and spent two seasons in Ann Arbor, but didn’t get to see the field much at all and didn’t record a single tackle before deciding to transfer. Once in the portal for the first time, Seldon found a nice new home with New Mexico State, where he would thrive in 2022 and 2023.

In two years with the Aggies, Seldon recorded 97 total tackles, 11 pass deflections and two interceptions across 28 total games participated in. After shining at the Group of Five level each of the last two seasons, Seldon opted to hop back in the portal and will now get a second try at a power conference program — this time, with a bit more pedigree to back him up.

The 5-foot-7 Seldon was a top recruit heading into college despite his diminutive stature, and was rated a four-star prospect in the class of 2020 by the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also ranked the No. 165 overall player and the No. 4 player out of Michigan for his cycle.

After originally committing to TCU this offseason, Andre Seldon Jr. will look for a new home, as he’s re-entering the transfer portal.

James Brockermeyer played high school football at All Saints Episcopal (Texas), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 234 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Teammates at Alabama have noticed James Brockermeyer and his talent. In particular, defensive lineman Damon Payne praised him.

“James has been a dog ever since he got here,” Payne told reporters. “He’s one of those guys that’s never gonna stop. You may be sleeping on him, but he’s never gonna stop working. The reps have definitely gotten a lot harder with James. He’s definitely turned that switch on, as he always does. And I’m very happy for him and what he’s doing right now.”

This spring, James Brockermeyer worked with Alabama’s first team offense. Despite that, he still entered the Transfer Portal and ended up at TCU, where his twin brother Tommy Brockermeyer plays after transferring from Alabama.
