Richmond (Texas) Ridge Point three-star safety Gil Jackson has flipped his commitment from Texas Tech to TCU, he announced on Saturday.

He was pledged to the Red Raiders since June, but is now set to head elsewhere in the Lone Star State and play under Sonny Dykes and Co. in Fort Worth.

Jackson is the No. 107 safety and No. 185 player in Texas in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s ranked as the No. 59 safety in the 2025 On300.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder picked up an offer from the Horned Frogs this fall and quickly felt the love from the staff. He becomes commitment No. 25 for TCU this cycle. The Frogs have the No. 26 recruiting class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

TCU has done well on the trail this cycle, and with under a month to go until the Early Signing Period, it has five blue-chippers on its pledge list. Headlining the class is Humble (Texas) Summer Creek four-star EDGE Chad Woodfork, the nation’s No. 77 recruit and No. 10 EDGE.
