Zach Evans is wasting no time showing the world why he is the highest-ranked TCU running back commit in program history.

Check out this 46-yard screen pass Evans takes to the house with ease.

Evans is a highly touted running back from North Shore High School in Houston, is designated the No. 1 overall prospect in the ESPN Junior 300 rankings. In his junior season in 2018, he rushed for more than 1,700 yards and 29 touchdowns while helping the Mustangs to a state championship.

The Sophomore is not only the highest-ranked TCU running-back, he’s the overall program’s highest-ranked recruit in history.

The 5-star recruit played in nine games for the Hornfrogs as a true freshman where he had 54 carries for 415 yards and four touchdowns.

In May of 2019  Evans announces his top five schools were Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma, although he continued to take visits to schools around the country, including in-state programs Texas and Texas A&M, in the following month.

In a wild series of events that ESPN breaks down here, Evans eventually ends up at TCU, a program that was never on his radar during the recruiting process.

The TCU running back was benched to start the 2021 campaign when the Horned Frogs opened against Duquesne.

TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson said Evans would not play the first two offensive series of the game after violating team policy. Patterson did not expand on what rule(s) Evans broke.

Patterson reiterated Evans has handled himself well since arriving on campus last year as the program’s highest-rated recruit, earning a 3.75 GPA his first year and being named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team. But rules are rules.
