In a wild series of events that ESPN breaks down here, Evans eventually ends up at TCU, a program that was never on his radar during the recruiting process.
The TCU running back was benched to start the 2021 campaign when the Horned Frogs opened against Duquesne.
TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson said Evans would not play the first two offensive series of the game after violating team policy. Patterson did not expand on what rule(s) Evans broke.
Patterson reiterated Evans has handled himself well since arriving on campus last year as the program’s highest-rated recruit, earning a 3.75 GPA his first year and being named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team. But rules are rules.
