TCU safety Abe Camara plans to enter transfer portal
TCU safety Abe Camara plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 has learned. The redshirt senior will be a grad transfer and have one year of eligibility remaining.
A key piece of the Horned Frogs’ secondary in recent yards, Camara was a member of the 2022 TCU roster that went to the national title game. The starting safety has 150 career tackles, 14 pass deflections, three forced fumbles and an interception.
The former No. 1 JUCO safety in the nation will take advantage of the NCAA Division I Board of Directors approving a blanket waiver granting an additional year of eligibility to former junior college transfers in light of the preliminary injunction against the NCAA in the Diego Pavia lawsuit. The waiver extends an extra year of eligibility, which Abe Camara is taking advantage of.
