Tennessee vs. Ohio State weather forecast for College Football Playoff first-round game
It’s projected to be a very cold night tomorrow when No. 8 Ohio State and No. 9 Tennessee kick off in Columbus.
The forecasts for tomorrow’s opening-round matchup between the Buckeyes and Volunteers in the College Football Playoff are predicting freezing temperatures. At game time from The Shoe at 8 p.m. ET, the teams will be playing and the fans in attendance will be watching in less than 30° weather, including projected lows of 15°.
One could make the case that the weather storylines, with three of the four playoff games being played in the northeast, are a bit overstated. Still, it’s a classic argument from programs based there with two of the opponents coming from down south to play in the cold on Saturday.
Ohio State (10-2) will return to take their home field for the first time since what happened in The Game. That loss was as humiliating as it was costly, as the Buckeyes cost themselves a potential bye in the playoff or at least a higher seed. Now, the path to their expectation of a national championship is only that much more difficult.
Tennessee (10-2) is then almost happy to be in the field. After a loss to Georgia, the Volunteers were outside the bracket before other teams in the conference suffered losses and, as such, they became the last of three seeds and second of two at-larges from out of the SEC.

This is expected to be the best of the opening-round matchups in the playoff. It’s one that’ll be played in frigid conditions, though, considering how cold it’s supposed to be tomorrow night in Columbus.
Ohio Stadium changed to ‘Neyland North’ on Apple Maps ahead of Ohio State-Tennessee
The disrespect of Ohio Stadium continues.
First, Michigan attempted to plant their flag at midfield after a fourth-straight victory in The Game. Now, Tennessee got in on it earlier this week by temporarily renaming the venue as ‘Neyland North’ on Apple Maps ahead of their first-round game with the Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff.
The stadium’s name in the app was quickly corrected and returned to Ohio Stadium but the troll had already caught the attention of both fanbases.
