Midlothian (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Nelson McGuire has committed to Texas A&M, he announced on Monday.

The former Minnesota commit chose the Aggies over the likes of Clemson, Auburn and Vanderbilt. McGuire was in College Station over the weekend to watch A&M roll past Missouri.

The 6-foot-4.5, 320-pound trench monster is the No. 548 overall prospect and No. 46 IOL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 77 player in Texas.

On3 ranks McGuire much higher than other recruiting services, however. He checks in as a four-star prospect at No. 234 overall, No. 14 at the IOL position and No. 38 in Texas, per the updated 2025 On300.

“It just shows me that they will beat all the odds,” McGuire said of A&M’s big win over the weekend when speaking with On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “Everyone was betting against A&M saying they were going to lose but they are doing what they do best and dominating the whole game moving forward. A&M is in a great place in my opinion. I would definitely consider coming to A&M. It is an amazing coaching staff, atmosphere is crazy! Very loud, intense and unmatched! I will definitely be back for another game!

Aggies add another OL to Top-10 recruiting class

McGuire is the sixth offensive lineman to join A&M’s 2025 class. He now flanks four-star IOL Marcus Garcia, four-star offensive tackle Jonte Newman, three-star IOL Connor Carty, three-star IOL Tyler Thomas and three-star IOL Joshua Moses. All six linemen hail from the Lone Star State.

The Aggies’ recruiting class ranks No. 9 in the nation and No. 7 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The addition of McGuire gives Mike Elko and Co. 22 total pledges this cycle.

Eight top-200 prospects sit atop the class, headlined by Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet, the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 4 QB in the nation. Longstreet is one of four blue-chip prospects out of California in the mix, alongside four-star cornerback Adonyss Currie, four-star linebacker Noah Mikhail and four-star EDGE Marco Jones. All four are top-150 recruits.

Nine four-stars out of Texas bolster the class, including top-100 defensive lineman DJ Sanders, the nation’s No. 4 TE Kiotti Armstrong, blue-chip CB Cobey Sellers, speedy receiver Kelshaun Johnson and safety Deyjhon Pettaway.
